Grants and Donations

We were awarded £2500 by the Ernest Cook Trust to train thirty Reading Leaders in secondary education.

The Yorkshire Society kindly chose us as their recipient charity at The Yorkshire Awards 2016 and donated £700 towards our ongoing programmes.

Nationwide customers in West Yorkshire nominated Reading Matters to feature in their Community Match programme in branch and we received a £100 donation for being part of the shortlist.

Thanks to Heckmondwike Rotary Club for their donation of £50 to Reading Matters.

Councillor Joanne Dodds donated a fantastic £1000 to Reading Matters as part of her ‘Spread a Smile’ campaign while Lord Mayor of Bradford.

We have received a generous donation from The Morrisons Foundation to train Reading Leaders and improve reading skills in Bradford Secondary schools.

We are very grateful for the donation made to us by the Sovereign Healthcare Charitable Trust to support our work in Bradford.

The Siobhan Dowd Trust are supporting a new project working with teenage parents and their children in Leeds.

The Brelms Trust are supporting some of our Reading Leaders work in primary and secondary schools in Bradford.

Reading Matters receives monthly donations from Holskjaer Charitable Trust, via Charities Aid Foundation.

We were delighted to receive a donation from The Usborne Foundation, with a message of ‘Keep up the good work!’.

Thank you to The Provincial Grand Masters Fund and Bradford Freemasons for the provision of resource boxes for 2 schools.

Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation have helped with the purchase of new resources for Reading Matters’ Reading Mentor volunteers.

Through a grant from Awards for All, we are working with The Bradford Bulls Foundation and training Bradford Bulls players and staff to become Reading Mentors in local schools.
